Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Well Being

Mercedes-Benz

Hegelmann Group has signed a letter of intent with Mercedes-Benz Trucks to purchase 50 eActros LongHaul electric trucks. The vehicles are set to be delivered to Hegelmann Group in 2024, when series production of the eActros LongHaul begins.

The eActros LongHaul is a heavy-duty electric truck designed to meet the same durability requirements as a conventional long-haul truck, with a lifespan of 1.2 million kilometres over 10 years of operation. It has a range of around 500 kilometres on a single battery charge, and its batteries can be charged from 20 to 80% in less than 30 minutes at a charging station with about 1 megawatt.

This line of truck produces zero emissions, making it better for air quality in urban areas. It also produces significantly less noise than diesel trucks, which can be a major benefit for communities located near motorways or trucking routes.

Testing will take place on public roads for the first time in 2023, and intensive customer testing with near-series production ready prototypes is also planned.
