Scope 1, 2 and 3 data

Thanks to our carbon accounting work with Emitwise, we now have a comprehensive emissions dataset for our financial year 2022 and as such have chosen this period to be our baseline year for our emissions targets. Baseline year in this sense means the year against which we will measure the changes in our emissions in the future. Hegelmann aims to continually improve the quality of data collected regarding emissions sources for increasingly accurate reporting. The data in the table below shows a breakdown of our emissions by scope as well as specific activity type within each scope, for 2022. Please note that in some instances we have rounded figures with decimals to the nearest approximate whole number. Emission figures presented are expressed in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e). As the table shows, the largest sources of Hegelmann’s emissions come from scope 1 (our own operations), followed by scope 3 (other activities in our value chain), whilst emissions from our purchased electricity in scope 2 account for significantly less. This information helps us identify the key areas we need to take action on to decarbonise as a company.
